Bose partnered with Accenture to develop two interactive retail displays for Best Buy: the Mirror Display and the Matchmaker Display. As the visual designer on the project, I created the animations, illustrations, and graphics across both experiences.
At Best Buy, Bose was competing for attention alongside colorful, visually busy product displays. Rather than adding to that noise, we took the opposite approach, staying true to Bose’s clean, minimal aesthetic and using interaction to stand out. While the surrounding displays were largely static, ours were designed to spark curiosity and invite customers to engage, creating a more memorable way to discover Bose products and their features.
The Mirror Display turned the product trial itself into part of the experience. A screen positioned behind a semi-reflective mirror allowed customers to see their own reflection while animations appeared directly within the mirrored surface. As customers tried on Bose headphones, four looped animations demonstrated key technologies through situations where their benefits could be immediately understood, from controlling surrounding noise to communicating in a crowded environment. I designed and animated the four illustrated stories around noise cancellation, open-ear audio, adaptive microphones, and voice assistance, using a minimal line-art style that could layer over the reflection without obscuring it.

Mirror Display
The Matchmaker Display was designed to help customers choose a product based on how they actually planned to use it. An interactive map across the tabletop organized Bose products around everyday scenarios, from commuting and work to travel, exercise, and time outdoors, allowing customers to explore which headphones best fit their lifestyle. I designed the graphic system across the surface and extended those scenarios into a pattern of dimensional icons behind the products, carrying the experience from the interactive tabletop into the physical display.
